I track the CMS Rural Health Transformation Program in all fifty states, every day, and match the awards to the organizations behind them and to the vendors who sell what they fund.
How the Desk works
The Desk is three databases, and I keep them linked.
The awards. The funded awards the states publish, read from the documents that publish them. The fastest-moving state pages are checked every hour, the rest once a day.
The organizations. A national database of rural health organizations, covering critical access hospitals, rural hospitals, rural health clinics, federally qualified health centers, EMS agencies, public health agencies, community mental health centers, certified community behavioral health clinics, and tribal providers. The awards are linked to the organizations behind them.
The vendors. A database of the companies that sell into rural health, by category, mapped against what the awards fund. For a vendor, that shows which funded projects sit nearest to what it sells, in which states, and who was funded.
Who I am
I am Justin Brilliant. I built the registry this summer while helping a health-tech company through the program, when nobody could say where the money was going. That registry became the Rural Health Desk, and keeping it is now my full-time work.
I track one program: the CMS Rural Health Transformation Program. I do not track all federal funding, and I do not track all rural health money. That narrowness is what makes the registry checkable.
